Big Weekend

We had a great 4th of July weekend! We stayed around Little Rock and got some stuff done around the house on Saturday, namely me pulling up the bushes in the front yard. But, it needed to be done. Then after church on Sunday, we headed to the big town of Mena to spend some time with Marcus' side of the family. We all had a blast, especially Nathan! He got to see some of his cousins that he loves playing with yet doesn't see very often. He got to ride go-carts, PowerWheels, and a four wheeler as well as played on a blow-up water slide thing. And, to top it all off, once the weekend was over, he got to go to Nana & Pops' for the week. He's having the time of his life!!!

Nathan wasn't the only one who had a big weekend; Lindsay did, too. Two big things happened for her over the holiday weekend: she got her first tooth, and she learned how to blow a whistle! For some reason, Nana thought it would be a good idea to teach her how to do this. I said "Do we really want to teach her how to do this?" and Nana said, "Sure we do". So, I was over-ruled on that one. Well, after showing her a couple of times, Lindsay had it down pat. She's a smart little girl ( a lot like her big brother)! It's the cutest thing to see her do it.

Oh, yeah! We also got to see some pretty cool fireworks! Mamaw lives on the outskirts of Mena on quite a bit of land, so we were able to shoot of some of our own fireworks. Not only that, but the city of Mena had moved their fireworks show to the park next to Mamaw's. So, we were able to watch that from the front lawn. We shot our fireworks while waiting for the city to do theirs. The family had bought some great fireworks and we had so much fun watching Douglas shoot them off. Then, we saw the city fireworks; it was great not having to leave the comfort of our own house! :) And, the fireworks didn't faze Lindsay one bit. I actually think she enjoyed watching them!

We had so much fun and it was great to get away! I love my family! Thanks, Mamaw, for letting us invade your house!
